On Sunday, November 13th, 2023, Adam Lindemer received the sacraments of Confirmation and First Communion at Sorrowful Mother. It is with great joy that we welcome him into full communion with the Church. Congratulations to Adam on this significant milestone in his faith journey!

Throughout October supplies for Birthright International in Rensselaer, IN were collected in honor of the Respect for Life month. Thank you to everyone who donated items. Your generous support will help local women navigate the challenges associated with unplanned pregnancies.
The Knights of Columbus Council 14368 of St. Cecilia Church wishes to thank those parishioners from across the Pastorate who attended the recent Fish Fry. We have heard from many of you that the fish was delicious. Thanks to all those who provided desserts and a special thanks to all who assisted in decorating the hall and working to serve those who came for food and friendship.
Parishioners from across the pastorate braved the cold and rainy weather on Saturday, October 14th to gather for the American Needs Fatima Rosary Rally at Spencer Park in Demotte.
On Sunday, October 8th, 2023, many parishioners from across the pastorate brought their pets to be blessed at St. Cecilia’s picnic pavilion in honor of St. Francis of Assisi’s feast day.
Over the coming year, our pastorate will be joined by a new face! Meet Father Ignatius (Iggy) Theophorus. Children in Faith Formation at Sorrowful Mother and St. Cecilia had fun coloring their own Father Iggy to take home on Saturday and Sunday, September 16-17. Throughout this year of Eucharistic Revival, our Pastorate will be learning about the Eucharist with the help of Father Iggy.
Congratulations Deacon Joe! Thank you to everyone who stopped by to celebrate the 15th anniversary of Decaon Joe VanSchepen’s ordination to the diaconate. A great time with fun and fellowship was had by all. We wish Deacon Joe the best and look forward to his ongoing service as a deacon within our pastorate for many years to come!

The North Newton Jasper Pastorate welcomed Father (formerly Deacon) Andrew Morand back for the weekend of Sept 9-10th, 2023. Parishioners were able to visit with Father Andrew after each Mass. Parents and children in Faith Formation joined in the fun and fellowship before meeting their catechists. Thank you to everyone who brought in dishes to share and those who participated in this event!
The parishioners of the North Newton Jasper Pastorate gave back to the community by donating 300 packs of notecards for the Back at Back to School Fair at Spencer Park in DeMotte on Saturday, July 23rd, 2023.
Many attended the Pastorate Pool Party on July, 13th that was held at the Spencer Park Pool in DeMotte. The event was sponsored by the St. Cecilia Ladies Sodality group and was open to the entire pastorate. Parishioners of all ages attended and had fun in the sun.
Thank you to everyone who participated in the World Day for Grandparents and the Elderly, 2023 celebrations! Families shared food and memories at the three celebrations after each Mass on Saturday, July 22nd and Sunday, July 23.
The Sorrowful Mother Altar Rosary Sodality sponsored a trip to the Four Corners Winery in Valparaiso on Sunday, July 16th, 2023. Great food, fun, and fellowship were enjoyed by all attendees.
